Dementia Friendly Services at Zest
A dementia-friendly community is where cities, towns, villages and local businesses and organisations support people to live well with dementia, helping them remain independent for longer.
Zest is part of a city-wide network of community organisations working to help local people to improve their health and wellbeing. Within this we have a particular focus on supporting people with Dementia to enjoy activities at Zest which are tailored to their needs.
We are committed to making the Centre and the surrounding areas* more Dementia Friendly. If you would like a chat about how to make your local community group or organisation Dementia Friendly please get in touch with our Dementia Officer, Sarah Longfield 07543 796 782 or 0114 2702040 and select option 2 for the health team / email: health@zestcommunity.co.uk
Sarah can help provide advice and signpost you to information and other activities and services. Sarah is not a medical expert or counsellor, but she will do her best to help you and if she can’t answer your question herself, she will put you in touch with someone who can.
* Our dementia services cover the following areas: Netherthorpe, Upperthorpe, Walkley, Hillsborough, Middlewood, Wadsley, Loxley and Stannington
